Ducky Egg Race 2015 Winners

Ducky Egg Race - Winners 2015

Intro

Friends of the Williams Aquatic Center was formed in response to the city’s intent to close and drain the pool.

Help us in returning the Williams Aquatic Center to being open year round. This pool has saved lives through physical therapy, given youth a place to utilize for keeping their mind and body fit, and helped the elderly with aerobics classes.

This is a community pool, a family pool that the citizens of Williams worked hard to get! Let’s not drain it and ruin this beautiful facility! Too many small towns across the US are losing the things that make them unique. Let’s stand up for our community and save the pool!

Any help with funding or avenues to obtain funding in keeping small-town America alive through this beautiful aquatic center that all ages and families can use, is welcomed with open hearts!

Welcome to The Friends of the Williams Aquatic Center

Posted with permission from the Williams-Grand Canyon News.

This video was produced to promote the pool in December 2009. The pool was closed in January 2010. The city has been able to open the pool while the students at our schools are on summer break. We are working to return this fine aquatic facility back to year round operation. Please help us achieve our goal.

4th Annual Golf Tournament and BBQ – Save The Date

SATURDAY,  June 8th,  2013

With the help of the city,  we have been able to move our Golf Tournament back to Saturday.  We hope that you can plan on joining us this year out on the Elephant Rocks Golf Course in the pine trees of the Coconino National Forest here in Williams, Arizona.  We will be having our delicious Deep-Pit BBQ for golfers and non-golfers after the Tournament.  The Tournament will be a 2-person scramble just like last year.   We have upped the ante with a $50,000 Hole-in-one contest.

If your coming from out of town, we would like for you bring your families.  There is a lot of things for them to do in our Route 66 town, Gateway to the Grand Canyon (TM) while you get to golf in the cool mountain air.  We will be arranging packages and discounts for the  families of the golfers at the area hotel, attractions and restaurants.

Stay tuned for more details.

Williams Aquatic Center Refresh Everything Update

We missed out on the May voting period.  It was really frustrating.  Pepsi decided to do maintenance before the start of the new submission period.  They gave us 7 hours notice, but hid the notifications in a blog and Facebook wall post.  Editing of the applications were suspended from 8PM to Midnight Eastern time.  Once they were open, things seemed to work for about 10 minutes and then the gateway errors started happening.  For the next 30 minutes, with every gateway error, you needed to re-login to try and submit your application.

Anyway, our application is done. There are no trademark images that could cause problems.  The video is complete, but we may decide to redo it.  We are ready for the next submission period that starts at 9PM AZ time on April 30th.  We are looking to be awarded one of  the $250,000 grants.  Wish us luck, because we’ll need it to get in.

Voting

To be eligible to vote for and idea for Pepsi’s Refresh Everything Project, you must be at least 13 years old and reside in the United States.  You can vote once per day for 10 different ideas.  Each day starts at 12:00AM Eastern time (9:00 in Arizona).

Williams Youth Center Project

The Williams Youth Center Project was able to get their application accepted to the April voting period.

You can vote for their project at http://www.refresheverything.com/williamsyouthcenterproject. Please tell your friends and try to get them to vote also.
